What software actually costs in India

Nearly every agency page on this subject exists to get you to fill a form. This one gives you our actual prices, and the market rate beside them, so you can walk into any conversation — including ours — knowing whether a quote is reasonable.

Our prices, next to the market

The left column is what we charge. The right is the range published by Indian development companies during 2026, collected from several public pricing guides. We are a Rayalaseema team rather than a metro agency, and the difference shows up in the number rather than in the quality of the work.

These are starting bands for planning. Your fixed price is confirmed in writing after one free scoping call, and it does not move unless you change what you asked for.

Every price above includes

A written fixed scope, design you approve before we build, training for your staff in all major Indian languages, and handover of the source code and data at delivery. No per-user licence, no lock-in.

What actually moves your number

How much of it is custom

A template with your logo is cheap. Screens designed around your actual process cost more and are worth it only when your process is genuinely unusual.

Number of integrations

Payments, Tally, WhatsApp, shipping, GST portals. Each one is real work, and each one is where fixed-price quotes usually hide exclusions.

How many kinds of user

One admin is simple. Owner + staff + dealer + customer, each with different permissions, multiplies the build.

Data migration

Getting years of records out of registers, Excel or an old system is frequently the largest single line item. Ask about it explicitly.

Languages

English plus Telugu or Hindi means more than translation — layout, fonts, input and testing all change.

Who is building it

A freelancer, a small local team and a metro agency will quote very different numbers for the same brief. All three can be right for different buyers.

The costs that appear after you say yes

Budget another 15–25% on top of the build price for these. They are not hidden by dishonesty so much as by habit — most quotes simply do not mention them.

Domain name₹99 – ₹2,500 / year
Hosting₹69 / month to ₹50,000+ / year
SSL certificateFree – ₹200 / year
Maintenance, updates and SEO₹1,000 – ₹50,000 / month
Payment gateway~2% per transaction, plus GST
WhatsApp Business APIPer-conversation charge set by Meta

Five questions that make two quotes comparable

  1. 1Exactly which pages or screens are included — as a written list, not a category?
  2. 2Which integrations are in scope, and what happens if one takes longer than expected?
  3. 3Who owns the source code and the database after delivery?
  4. 4What is included after launch, for how long, and what does support cost after that?
  5. 5What is the total over three years, including hosting, maintenance and any licence per user?

Ask all five of every quote, including ours. A vendor who cannot answer them in writing is telling you something useful.

Where the money is usually wasted

  • Building the full system before proving the first module — pay for one painful process, see it work, then extend.
  • Paying for design polish on screens nobody uses daily, while the screen used fifty times a day stays clumsy.
  • An app when a fast mobile website plus WhatsApp would have done the job for a fifth of the price.
  • Skipping data migration in the quote, then paying for it as a change request at a worse rate.
  • A site nobody can edit, so every price change becomes an invoice.

Questions we get asked

How much does a website cost in Andhra Pradesh?
With us a 5–10 page business website is ₹10,000 to ₹40,000, and a larger custom site is ₹50,000 to ₹1,50,000. The wider Indian market charges roughly ₹15,000 to ₹1,00,000 for the same business site. Budget another 15–25% for domain, hosting and content in either case.
Why is MindT cheaper than the market range?
Cost base, not corner-cutting. We are a small engineering team in Andhra Pradesh with no metro office rent and no sales layer between you and the people writing the code. The same team built MandiGrow and an OCR pipeline that turned 70,000 scanned PDFs into 10 lakh+ searchable records.
Is a cheap website a bad idea?
Not always. If you need a presence and a phone number, a ₹15,000 site done properly beats a ₹1,50,000 site done badly. It becomes a bad idea when it is slow, invisible on Google, or you cannot edit it — because then you pay twice.
What is a fair way to compare two quotes?
Put them side by side on five things: exact page or screen list, integrations included, who owns the source code, what happens after launch, and total cost over three years including hosting and maintenance. The cheaper quote is often the more expensive one on that view.
Should I pay monthly or one-time?
One-time for the build, plus a clear, optional support arrangement. Be careful with monthly plans that never end and leave you owning nothing — check whether stopping payment means losing the site.
Are these prices real?
Yes — the table above is real, and almost no company in the region publishes anything. You deserve to know whether you can afford this before spending an hour on a call. Your exact figure is fixed in writing after a free twenty-minute scoping call.
